Ireland Here I Come!
Posted on 16. Feb, 2009 by Jack in Personal
Finally I’m getting my chance to visit Ireland, after many years of hoping and wishing! Being a huge fan of Celtic lore and fiction (everyone check out Stephen Lawhead!), I’ve wanted to get on that island for a long time. So 11 days and 10 nights it is. I’m ordering a Pentax D60 shortly and am researching locations, B&Bs, castles and pubs. Pouring over maps and wikipedia, I don’t wanna miss anything.
My wife and I are flying into Dublin on March 28th and back out on April 7th. Beside Dublin, we want to get to Killkenny, Cliffs of Moher and beyond that…we’re open to suggestions.
I do know that the best way to learn is to talk to people who have been or live there, so if anyone has any recommendations, tips, or even want to meet up, just let me know! I’ll buy ya a Guinness.
Comment, email me, shoot me a tweet or even Skype [username: jackmcdade] me!

Walk! Dublin’s a very walkable city. A stroll across from St. Stephen’s Green up past the Castle to St. James Gate is a great way to start off the day.

Jack – your site is amazing. How do you find the time?
Is this EE or Word press too? I can never tell you have to teach me.

Hi Jack,
If you are interested in staying in some really cool heritage properties you should check out Galley Head Lighthouse in Cork. Photo here on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/crosshaven/2797940574/
They have properties all over the country for rental:
