Looking Ahead to 2015
Written on December 23, 2014
A lot of things are changing for 2015. For one, I’ve got a third kid on the way. As parents and non-parents can both attest, that’s crazy.
My Statamic business parter, Fred LeBlanc has decided to simplify his life, which included stepping away from Statamic. We worked out a buy-out agreement, which means I’m now the sole owner of the platform, but thankfully not the sole dev. I still have my team, and for that I’m thankful. We plan to do some truely awesome stuff next year.
I’ll be starting a parent company for Statamic so we can offer professional services and potentially build other things (or not, I haven’t decided). Statamic is a product, not a company, so this will help to make those lines more clear. More on that in the neat future, once I have a logo. We all know that’s all a business needs to be successful, so it’s gonna be a good one.
I’m still contracting for GE, which I enjoy, building neat things for them. Maybe some changes coming there, maybe not. We’ll see.
I’m very involved with my small community group from church and hope that it grows deeper as well as wider (we have room for another family/couple or two!).
I’m also really involved with my CrossFit gym and friends, Purebred Athletics and don’t plan to change that. Those guys are awesome. Can’t wait to see what happens there.
I’d like to get to some more (some at all) conferences next year. I plan to go to PeersConf in the spring, feel free to send me any other recommendations.
I need to find a winter sport to get through the next few months. Thinking about snow showing. Now that I write this, I realize we’re getting really granular here. No one cares this much.
Merry Christmas everyone! I look forward to seeing what you’re up to in 2015 too.
