Happy Birthday Statamic!

Written on June 21, 2013

Statamic turned 1 year old this week. What a wild ride it has been: the highest of highs and lowest of lows. You know, the typical roller coaster of startups and entrepreneurs. If I could do it all over again, I’m not sure what I would answer, but having come out the other side, I’m one happy fella.

On our 1 year birthday we launched 1.5, the single largest update I’ve ever made to anything. It was 10x more work than we expected and it took 3x longer than planned. But damn. It’s good.

We also launched a brand new website, completely rewrote and expanded the documentation, updated our brand quite a bit, and released API docs. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in weeks, keeping up with client work (I’m currently contracting at GE Design), the development of 1.5, support, the full redesign and site build, hiring an intern, and making time for my family (a true priority that I rarely let get in the way of work). I cannot wait to hit the pillow.

So that’s what I’ve been up to. When you summarize it in 2 paragraphs it’s hard to believe it took 6 months. Maybe this blog will see more action, but something tells me there are more features to build, docs to write, and people to support, and most people reading this blog would prefer I do that.

Carry on, internet. Carry on.
